WhatisthehistoryofCavanaugh?Cavwasconstructedasamale,freshmanresidencehallin1936anddedicatedinhonorofRev.JohnW.Cavanaugh,NotreDame'sfifthpresident.Whenconstructed,thehallwasthefirstNorthQuadresidencehall.CavConvertedtoawomen'sresidencehallin1994asaresultofincreasingenrollmentofwomen.WhenitwasdecidedCavanaughwouldbecomeawomen’sdorm,themenlivingtherewerenothappy.RumorhasitthattheypublishedanarticleintheObserveraroundChristmasentitled,“HowtheGrinchStoleNaughville.”

Isthereanyextrastoragespaceasidefrommyroom?Yes.Eachsectionhasaclosetforstoragewhereyoucanputyoursuitcasewhenitisnotinuse.

Howdoeslaundrywork?Thelaundryroomisnexttothegym,with7washersand8dryers,aswellashangingracksandfoldingtables.Itcosts$1.50perwashand$1.25perdry.
