There is an old Yiddish proverb, “Mann Tracht, Un GottLacht” which translates roughly to “Man plans and Godlaughs,” meaning that despite our best-laid plans, life isunpredictable. Think of how often a trafficjam or a detour upsets our plans to be somewhere on time.How often have you been certain that your plans for something at work or a proposal to friends would beaccepted only to have them tell you they have other plans?As the stoic philosophers were constantly telling us, thereare very few things about which we have complete control,and about the things which we have no control we shouldnot worry. The things over which we have control are ouropinions, our judgements, and to some extent, our desires.Consider that we live in a world where the processes ofnature are beyond our control, where the billions of peoplewho inhabit the earth are also beyond our control, andwhere even our own bodies are to a large extent subject toexternal forces and natural processes. (Branson, Missouri, Jan. 20,2020) - Kicking off 2020 as thecapping of a $100-million-dollar-decade, Silver Dollar City officialsare actively preparing for the 2020season, embarking on a 60th An-niversary Diamond Jubilee. The in-t e r n a t i o n a l l y - a c c l a i m e d1880s-style theme park in Branson,Missouri begins celebrating sixdecades of providing family enter-tainment in the Ozarks by announc-ing an extensive list ofentertainment offerings for 2.2 mil-lion annual guests.

The 2020 slate includes a wholenew area of a town in celebration,a new BBQ restaurant, and a best-in-class water adventure ride de-signed to honor the great cave on

site, the Registered National Land-mark, Marvel Cave. Plus the1880s-style theme park’s world-class festivals are adding big namesin entertainment, new food offer-ings including a home-style cinna-mon bread bakery and new tastecreations.
