•Dhoni was named the captain of Indian squad for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 held in South Africa in September 2007 and won that tournament.

•It was under his captaincy that India climbed to No. 1 in the ICC Test Rankings in December 2009.

•In 2011, he accomplished the dream that India waited for 28 years. Won the ICC World Cup. The only team to win World Cup in their own backyard.

•In March 2013, Dhoni became the most successful Indian Test captain when he eclipsed Sourav Ganguly,s record of 21 victories from 49 Tests.

•In 2013, India also won ICC Champions Trophy.

•Dhoni is the present captain of the Chennai Super Kings Team. Under his captaincy, Chennai Super Kings have won two Indian Premier League titles and the 2010 Champions League Twenty20.
