Kipahoehoe Archeological Field Inspection 2020

Specifications and Point of Contact Emma Yuen Emma.Yuen@hawaii.gov (808) 366-4788

Scope of Work: DOFAW is proposing to construct a road that is approximately 2,985 feet and grub an area that is approximately 8,140 feet as shown in the attached map.

We request an archeological field inspection and report be completed along this corridor to determine if undocumented historical properties exist in the road and grubbing corridor. This includes identification and inventory of any historic properties within the project and, if present, an assessment of their integrity and site significance. While the area is predominantly fresh lava and undeveloped, remote forest that is unlikely to have archeological sites, if they are found, provide GIS coordinates of the features and mark the features in the field so that they may be avoided.

This job does not require an archeological monitoring plan, which will be procured separately if historical properties are found.
