Internet of Things (IoT) as an enabler for Tourism

Smart Tourism is the way forward but caution is needed!
• It is imperative to have a clear Business case before IoT implementation and an estimation of the Return on Investment (ROI). Since, IoT implementation incurs heavy investment cost.
• Internet of Things generates massive amounts of data to help streamline operations and better serve travelers. But trying to make sense of all that information requires a parallel investment in the right software and people to interpret the information and help draw actionable conclusions.
IoT requires huge investments IoT needs to be backed up by good analysis
Smart vs Privacy!
• IoT sensors will provide travel brands with incredible new insights into their travelers’ habits. But customers also need to feel confident that their personal information is being used responsibly.
