Team-Teaching• Regular and Special Education in Grades 7

and 8; collaboration and curriculum work

Skill building, re-teaching, additional exploration, and pre-teaching

Closing the Gap for Special Education Students 7th grade scores grew from mid-3rd grade

to late-6th grade on national norms. 8th grade scores grew from mid-5th

to mid-7th grade on national norms. Four students were able to return to

regular math without double-dip support before the end of the year.

75% of targeted students made larger gains on MAP than a typical student.

2011-12 Achievement Goal Preview - Reading

80% of students identified for either pull-out or team-taught literacy instruction will close the achievement gap by exceeding their expected growth from fall to spring on the MAP assessment.

2011-12 Achievement Goal Preview - Reading

We will maintain or improve our WKCE reading proficient/advanced percentage by improving the rigor of our literacy instruction through the creation and implementation of three units of study each in grades 7 and 8, and through continued Common Core literacy integration in the content areas, by June 2012.

Language Arts: Complete 3 additional units each at grades 7 and 8 with enduring understandings and essential questions.

Continue Common Core literacy work in content areas (Science, Social Studies, Health, Technology Education, Computer Applications)

Both emphasize critical thinking through analysis and evaluation of complex information, and application of that information in new or creative ways.
