nights out and adventures, is that

Kate is making a living. Which means,

In a world where everybody’s a photographer, Anna Linderstam is very

far from everybody. In order to achieve a result, she often hypnotises or

temporarily blinds her subjects. It makes for uncomfortable watching but

ultimately it’s about as far away as you can get from social snaps. Anna

works with a large format 10x8” camera and only prints analogue to

make highly detailed and precise photographs. She says that when mak-

ing the images she “wants the different types of textures to be visible and

to give the illusion that it would almost be possible to touch the charac-

ters.” And if you could touch them you’d probably want to give them a

pat on the back and a cup of tea.

place to other applied artists. Sure they’re creative but their creativity

doesn’t extend past sexing up the same 26 letters every time around.

Now in China, where they’ve close on 7000 to play with, a typogra-

pher is something different but amongst us Roman alphabet users,

prospects are slightly different. So when we found one we held him

down until he answered some questions.

Calligraphy and lake fishing inspire autumn winter’s Onitsuka collection. Sumi again brings beauty through simplicity in shape and colour. For Tsuri, lake fishing in the Japanese mountains renders a collection with lively colour combinations and details such as pockets and clear-cut lines.

In 1949, Kihachiro Onitsuka established Onitsuka Tiger, the forerunner of ASICS. It began with a commitment to promoting youth health, and has gone on to play a part in most major Olympic games. The famous Tiger stripes are synonymous with sporting triumph.

The legend lives on today in the fusion of Japanese heritage and contem-porary design. The spirit of Onitsuka Tiger is reflected in each collection of unique shoes, apparel and accessories.
