Today, we are going to learn about famous artist
JASPER JOHNS!
Mr. Johns makes art using NUMBERS and LETTERS!
He likes to pick numbers and letters
that mean something to him…
What numbers and letters can you think of that are important to you?
Your birthday? Your name? Your address? Your nickname?
Your challenge:Step 1:In crayon, make at least 15 numbers and letters on your sheet of paper. Make some BIG and some SMALL… and turn the paper as you make them.Step 2 :Using watercolor paint, paint over each letter. Try to fill the whole page, and use at least 5 colors!
REMEMBER: The more letters and number you make,
the more your artwork looks finished! Draw nice and dark!!
Watercolor paints are special paints, so remember to “PET” your paints…
Wash out your brush between each color.
