1 Module Description
Irrigation Monitoring module is part of Enterprise Information Management System (EIMS) which helps in setting of Irrigation Targets, recoding of irrigation achieved and monitoring of progress made. The module can be provisioned to record irrigation progress during rabi, kharif, others seasons through use of master screens. During the specified period the irrigation recording is enabled for users otherwise it is locked for data entry. The module helps storage of historical data and one can then find the irrigation trend and pattern of each year and draw various kinds of inferences.
2 Basic Definitions
Types of Crops in MP:
Kharif: Crops are sown at the beginning of the first rains in June/July, during south-west monsoon
season. It‟s also known as summer or monsoon crop.
Rabi: Crops need relatively cool climate during the period of growth but warm climate during the
germination of their seed and maturation. It‟s also known as winter crop. MP state irrigation largely is based on Rabi Crops.
Zaid/Others: Crops grown throughout the year and these crops require less water compared to the
seasonal crops.

As can be seen above the module is about:
a) Setting season wise Irrigation Target of a year. b) Recording of Irrigation achieved in the field after water release. c) Monitoring of Irrigation planned Irrigation vs target achieved d) Maintaining History of the Irrigation per year and season (or crop).
4 Module Features
The key features of the modules are listed below:
4.1 Security Feature
The module has login based permissions and access. It means one user can‟t access or remove/update the information created by EIMS user. Also some of the screens or facilities in the modules are extended as per the roles.

Please do not share your login and passwords with other users
Please update your passwords regularly
4.2 Master Data
The Master data is the key or basic information that needs to be entered into EIMS, the information may include mp districts, scheme types etc. The following masters are used in Irrigation Monitoring module:
Season Period Master: Defines Irrigation Season (Rabi/Kharif/Other) and their recording
start and end date.
Irrigation Period Master: Enables data entry for a defined period (Fortnightly/Monthly/Weekly).
4.3 Search
EIMS gives search facilities for retrieval of data. On the search screen the user is required to enter key phrases to enable search. The various search screens available in Irrigation Monitoring modules are as follows:
Search Irrigation Target Details: facility to search Irrigation target details for an Office, Season (Rabi/Kharif/Other), Financial Year and Scheme Category (major/medium/minor).
Search Irrigation Progress Details: facility to search Recorded Irrigation progress details
for an Office, Season (Rabi/Kharif/Other), Financial Year and Scheme Category (major/medium/minor).
