IoD Company Direction Programme 2016 - 2017
Professional Course
The GTA University Centre, in partnership with the Institute of Directors, is delighted to launch this latest series of the Company Direction Programme. The IoD’s development programmes aim to equip you as a director with the all-round skills, knowledge and understanding essential for directing an organisation from a strategic perspective.
› IoD Company Direction Programme
The Company Direction Programme is comprised of five short courses,
each concentrating on particular aspects of the Director’s and Board’s
role.
The first four courses make up the ‘Certificate’ which then leads on to
the ‘Diploma in Company Direction’. The Certificate plus Diploma
totals 13 days face-to-face, intensive training blended with 2 days of e-
learning, plus an optional two-day crammer session prior to the
Certificate examination. With short, stand-alone courses making up the
total programme, this flexible approach makes it easier for you to fit
learning into your busy schedule.
› Subjects
The subjects covered within the certificate are:
Role of the Director and the Board
Finance for Non-Financial Directors
Director’s Role in Leading the Organisation
Director’s Role in Strategy and Marketing
Successful delegates have the option to progress to the Diploma module:

› Chartered Director
The IoD's new format development
programmes will equip you, as a
director, with the all round skills,
knowledge and understanding
essential for successfully directing
an organisation from a strategic
perspective. They lead to recognised
qualifications, the Certificate and
Diploma in Company Direction, and
ultimately to Chartered Director
status.
MBA holders can gain access to a
fast-track IoD qualification route.
› Blended Learning
The Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction are based on a
blended learning principle - a combination of modules combining short
courses with e-learning, making them the most time-efficient way to
keep you up to date with your changing responsibilities and liabilities
as a director.
Individuals are supported along a continuous development path from
knowledge acquisition through to the opportunity to explore
