INTRODUCTION TO
DECISION SCIENCE
ONLINE COURSE
Make more informed, data-driven decisions based on insights
Insight360 (UAE) & Data Science Tech Institute (France), Introduction to Decision Science
ABOUT THIS PROGRAM While data science is perhaps the most broadly used term, ‘decision science’ is the more fitting description of how
machines are assisting business leaders in solving problems that have traditionally relied on human judgment,
intuition and experience. Decision Sciences is an interdisciplinary field that draws on economics, machine learning,
statistical decision theory, operations research, forecasting, behavioral decision theory and cognitive psychology
Insight 360 (UAE) and Data Science Tech Institute (France) have designed a practical program for decision makers,
data analysts and consultants to introduce the concepts of decision science and how they can be used in improving
their daily decisions. The program introduces you to the application of decision science techniques and concepts
such as Multicriteria Decision Making, measure efficiency using Data Envelope Analysis, optimization and
simulation. while teaching you what are those concepts and how can be used in your business to generate insights
and move from descriptive to prescriptive analytics. The program will be run as capstone where you will be a
decision maker of hypothetical business context challenging you every time by taking decision based on data and
you will apply decision science techniques every time to take an informed decision.
Over 3 weeks, you will explore what decision science means and you will acquire new skills that will help you taking
informed decisions based on smart insights generated from data.
WHAT THE COURSE COVERS
By making complex decision science techniques more
accessible to nontechnical professionals, this program
provides you with the knowledge to harness decision
skills in your real-life as a manager.
Over the course of the program you’ll examine the challenge of making decision and what cognitive
science tell us about decision biases, how you can
take a decision when you have multiple criteria to
choose from, how you can evaluate the efficiency of
multiple decision making units when you have
multiple inputs and outputs, how you handle
uncertainty, when and how you can use optimization
to get the best scenario, when and how you can use
simulation as scenario evaluation and finally how you
can structure those tools in smart decision support
system.
Guided by industry experts and top scientists in
Europe you will develop an understanding of the
practical opportunities and challenges of using
these data-driven methods to support your
decisions.
On completing this course, you will understand how
decision science techniques can be practically applied
to extract meaningful insights and how these insights
can support a holistic decision.
Price: 4,000 USD /Seat + Optional 2,700 USD for 20
hours of individual coaching to apply the course on
your business
Program duration: 3 weeks
Learning hours: 10 to 12 hours/week of learning,
entirely online
2 to 3 modules are released weekly, allowing a flexible but structured
approach to learning. You will be supported as you engage in individual
activities and group discussions, ensuring you feel confident to submit
your best work at each weekly deadline.
WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?
This program is designed for anyone with an interest in using
advanced analysis to help making informed both managers and
data analysts or data scientists looking to grow their skills and
improve their decisions.
The content will also be useful for those with an existing
knowledge of data science, who would like to explore how to
use it to serve business strategies. Overall, the course will give
professionals interested in the built environment a competitive
edge, as it teaches skills that are relevant for analysis, valuation,
and informed decision making.
This course has no formal prerequisites, You will not be
expected to know programming, but you will manipulate few
lines of code written in the programming language R.

Discover how to use simulation to evaluate business
scenarios and what if analysis.
MODULE 6
Probability and statistics
Discover how to handle uncertainty using probability
and statistics.
MODULE 7
Prediction
