INTRODUCTION
GeoTrips is a new interactive website highlighting many of
New Zealand's extraordinary geological features and
landforms, and how to visit them. It is aimed at non-
specialists and encourages hands-on, active investigation,
inquiry and learning.
It is of interest to travellers, tourists, teachers and anyone
who loves exploring nature. The site currently has over
300 locations throughout the country.
VUW has partnered with GNS Science via a summer
scholarship project to develop locations in the Wellington
and Wairarapa regions (Fig 1). Thirty-six sites were
identified and added to the website.
