RSC Instructions

Pull fiber sub units throughto front of enclosure tray

(cassette will be front loaded intothe enclosure tray when complet-ed.)

4RIC3-E-24,36 and 48 willstart in “A” and “B” slot (far

right when looking from the back)with a length of 30 inches fromjacket lance point to fusion pointfor first two cassettes. Length willdecrease 4 inches with each set ofcartridges to the left

3 Cut three sections from spiralwrap ½ inches each.6Pull the release tab in the

back of the cassette. Thenslide the cassette cover backwardsand lift it off as shown.

Remove 18 inches of cablejacket or sub-tube from fiber.8Place remaining long section

of spiral wrap over 1 or 2sub-tubes (dependent on fibercapacity of module 12 or 24)

7 Following recommendedinstructions for fusion splice

unit being used, Splice the pigtail tothe incoming fiber.

10Uncoil pigtail from insidesplice cassette and cut to 24

inches.

Slide Fusion splice heat shrinksleeves over fiber.

The RIC3-E-72-01 will start in“A” slot (far right when look-

ing from the back) with a length of30 inches from jacket lance pointto fusion point. Length willdecrease 1 inch with each car-tridge to the left.

2Prep fiber cable and secureto lance tab at back of the

enclosure. Sub unit length will verydepending on module position andenclosure used. The following arelength recommendations only andmay vary depending on fiber entrypoint to enclosure.

Gently slide spiral wrap fromstep 7 down exposed fiber

on distribution fiber side of splices.12Gently place fused fiber

sleeves in a cylindrical bun-dle. Secure with Velcro tie.

11Place two ½ inch sectionsof spiral wrap on 900micron pigtails to help

manage fibers.

14Leave approximately 2 inchesof exposed fiber from fusion

sleeves.13

Fiber loops should sit on bot-tom of the cassette as

shown above.16Carefully coil cable into the

Cassette as shown(coil shouldrest under pigtails at bulkhead)

15 Secure the incoming cable tothe floor of the cassette with

provided tie wrap utilizing the lancesas shown.

Use caution when tightening tiewrap to avoid damaging fiber.

18Place Velcro dot on side ofcassette to lock Velcro

wrapped splice sleeves.

If using ribbon version, VelcroCan be used to organize storage loopand then attached to Velcro dot.

A storage loop secured tothe RIC enclosure allows the

splice cassette to be removed fromthe from and opened for access.Securing Velcro should be releasedprior to cassette removal.

20Place cassette cover ontocassette as shown above (be

sure all fiber is clear and notpinched between the cover.) Pushthe lock tab in to secure the cover.Finally slide the cassette back intothe front of the enclosure tray.

Carefully coil fiber withsplice into the Cassette as

shown(coil should rest on top ofcoiled ribbon)

10Place Velcro dot on side ofcassette. Velcro can be used

to organize storage loop and thenattached to Velcro dot.

11 Secure the incoming cable orsub unit tube too the floor of

the cassette with provided tie wraputilizing the lances as shown.

Use caution when tightening tiewrap to avoid damaging fiber.

tion tubing with provided tie wraputilizing the lances as shown.
