The grasses, shrubs and trees, which grow on their own without interference from human beings are called NATURAL VEGETATION

Due to varied climatic conditions, India has a vide range of Natural vegetation such as Tropical, Mountain vegetation, Thorny and Mangrove forest.

1:- Tropical Evergreen forest or Rainforest. 2:- Tropical Deciduous forest. 3:- Thorny Bushes. 4:- Mountain Vegetation and 5:- Mangrove forests.

FIRST OF ALL LET US SEE What is Tropical forest and why are they called so ?

Almost all Tropical Forests lie between two imaginary lines North and South of the Equator called the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn

That is why they are called Tropical forest or Tropical rainforest

That area can be seen in the WORLD MAP.

Trees which are found are ,Mahogany, Ebony and Rosewood. Andaman and Nicobar,North-eastern states and narrow strip of Western Ghats are home of these forests.

Rosewood is used for costly show pieces and for shade. Ebony’s seed is an alternative of coffee and of ornaments also.

THESE FORESTS ARE ALSO CALLED MONSOON FORESTS THEY SHED THEIR LEAVES TIMELY, THEY ARE LESS DENSE. THE IMPORTANT

TREES ARE S AL, TEAK, PEEPAL, AND NEEM. NORMALLY FOUND IN M.P. U.P. & BIHAR.

THORNY BUSHES This type of vegetation is found in dry areas of the country. The leaves are in the form of spines to reduce the loss of water. For Example :- Cactus, Babul and Khair and Jujuba.These trees are found in Haryana, Punjab and Gujarat.

MOUNTAIN VEGETATION Most of the trees are conical in shape thus they are called coniferous trees, they are, Chir Pine and Deodar

MANGROVE OR TIDEL FOREST

Mangrove forest are found on the swampy, marshy coastal areas of West Bengal and in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is named after the Sundari tree that grows here. Normally trees have special roots that come out of the water for breathing.

WHY ARE FOREST NECESSARY? Trees provide us Oxygen, Fuel wood, fodder, medicinal plants and herbs, lac, honey, gum, honey, Sports Goods, Furniture, Fruits, Gum and Lac, Habitat for Wildlife, Timber, Rubber etc. As we know that forest are home to a variety of wild life so we will see The Asiatic lions,Elepphants, Leopard, Birds such as our National Bird etc.
