Chief Minister N. Biren Singhhas said that the Reserve Bankof India (RBI) is likely to liftthe ban imposed on thefinancial transactions of theState Government due tooverdraft within a few days.He was speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of thejoint Meeyamgi Numit and HillLeaders’ Day held at theDurbar Hall of Chief Minister’sSecretariat today.The Chief Minister said thatduring his recent visit to NewDelhi, he had apprised PrimeMinister Narendra Modi andUnion Finance MinisterNirmala Sitharaman of thecurrent financial position ofthe State. N. Biren furtherinformed that he requestedthe Finance Minister torelease open marketborrowings to overcome thecurrent situation .Subsequently, the UnionMinistry of Finance issuedpermission directing the RBIto raise open marketborrowings of the State up toRs. 795 crores. For the timebeing, the State Governmentis borrowing Rs. 400 croresfrom the open market throughRBI to neutralise the currentoverdraft, he said while addingthat the State Government isalso expecting to receive Rs.305 crores as State share ofCentral Taxes in a day or so.In another positivedevelopment, the ChiefMinister said, he could secure
