continue to spread a love for books and reading!

Will you help us for the 2019-2020 school year and be a sponsor? $10 covers one student for the whole school year. They will receive nine books to add to their book collection at home! Thank you in

CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESSL: Because we know sin does not reign, we boldly

confess our sins before God and one another.

Pause for silence and reflection.

L: God of righteousness,

C: Our ideas, conversations, and behaviors often

cause more harm than good. We are regularly pushed

and pulled by the temptation to sin. But we know that

your righteousness will prevail. Forgive what we have

done or have failed to do. Reconcile us to your love

each and every day. Amen.

L: We live in a world hand-crafted by a loving God. In our

sin God does not abandon us or leave us to flounder.

Instead our God offers mercy and grace. Receive the

entire forgiveness of all your sins, a gift from God. You

have been made new by the saving work of Jesus Christ,

our Lord. Amen.

Holy Communion is open to all who confess Jesus

as Lord and believe that Jesus is present in the Bread

and Wine. If you desire gluten-free wafers, let the pastor

know at the time of distribution. Glasses of white grape

juice are available in each tray for those who do not wish

to receive wine.

WORDS OF

INSTITUTION

THE LORD’S PRAYER

OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY

NAME, THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS

IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD; AND

FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO

TRESPASS AGAINST US; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND

THE POWER, AND THE GLORY, FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN.

INVITATION TO COMMUNIONP: As we have been buried with Christ, so shall we be

raised with him. Let us come now to our Lord’s table, to be fed on his body and blood, and upon the promises which are eternally ours through the gift of our savior. There is food for all; come and share in your master’s joy!

POST-COMMUNION BLESSING P: The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ

strengthen you and keep you in his grace.

C: Amen.

POST-COMMUNION PRAYERP: It is only through Your grace, O Lord, that we are able

to approach Your table,

C: and it is only through Your Son’s mercy that we

are forgiven. Empower us to share that same grace

and mercy with all of creation. Amen.

READING ROMANS 6:1-14What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in

order that grace may abound? By no means! How can

we who died to sin go on living in it? Do you not know

that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus

were baptized into his death? Therefore we have been

buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as

Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the

Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we

have been united with him in a death like his, we will

certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.

We know that our old self was crucified with him so that

the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no

longer be enslaved to sin. For whoever has died is freed

from sin. But if we have died with Christ, we believe that

we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being

raised from the dead, will never die again; death no

longer has dominion over him. The death he died, he

died to sin, once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to

God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin

and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, do not let sin exercise dominion in your

mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions. No

longer present your members to sin as instruments of

wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those

who have been brought from death to life, and present

your members to God as instruments of righteousness.

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are

not under law but under grace.

L: THE WORD OF THE LORD,

C. THANKS BE TO GOD.

“They’ll Know We are Christians

by Our Love”

We are one in the Spirit,

we are one in the Lord

We are one in the Spirit,

we are one in the Lord

And we pray that all unity

will one day be restored

And they'll know we are

Christians by our love,

By our love

Yeah, they'll know we are

Christians by our love.

We will walk with each other,

We will walk hand in hand

We will walk with each other,

We will walk hand in hand

And together we’ll

spread the news

That God is in our land

And they'll know we are

Christians by our love,

By our love

Yeah, they'll know we are

Christians by our love.

We will work with each other,

we will work side by side

We will work with each other,

we will work side by side

And we'll guard each man's

dignity and save each man's

pride

And they'll know we are

Christians by our love,

By our love

Yeah, they'll know we are

Christians by our love.

All Praise to the Father

From whom all good things

come

And all praise to Christ Jesus

His only Son

And all praise to the Spirit

Who makes us one

And they'll know we are Christians

by our love, by our love

Yeah, they'll know we are

Christians by our love.

BLESSINGP: Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless you

now and forever.

C: Amen!

“My Lighthouse”

In my wrestling and in my doubts,

in my failures You won't walk out

Your great love will lead me through

You are the peace in my troubled sea, whoa oh

You are the peace in my troubled sea.

In the silence You won't let goIn the questions Your truth will holdYour great love will lead me through

You are the peace in my troubled sea, whoa oh

You are the peace in my troubled sea.

My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse

Shining in the darkness, I will follow you, oh

My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse

I will trust the promise You will carry me

Safe to shore......

Safe to shore.....

Safe to shore.....

Safe to shore.

I won't fear what tomorrow bringsWith each morning I'll rise and singMy God's love will lead me through

You are the peace in my troubled sea, whoa oh

You are the peace in my troubled sea.

My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse

Shining in the darkness, I will follow you, oh

My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse

I will trust the promise You will carry me

Safe to shore......

Safe to shore.....

Safe to shore.....

Safe to shore.
