market, averaging 6.9% growth per

202.4 billion RTKs in 2011 to

more than 558.3 billion RTKs by

2031.

World air cargo traffic will be

more than double between 2011

and 2031.

freight industry to grow at a rate of 10%.

Air freight is also growing at a rate of

8.5%. India spends 15 to 20% of its GDP

on transport and logistics compared to an

average 8 to 10% in other developing

countries. Domestic and international air

cargo traffic has grown at a CAGR of

12.3% and 13%, respectively, during 2007-

2010 India will have five hundred

operational airports in coming twelve years.

Port based freight transportation predicted to grow

at 20% to 25%, at major and minor ports.

Sea transport through India’s major ports will also

perform well and grow at 9.2% with the entry of private
