All About Snails by Hunter Garcia

Imagine you're in your backyard in the summer and you see a slimy body with a hard shell. You wonder what it is. You ask yourself, should I pick it up?

This bug lives on land, in saltwater, and freshwater. It also lives in soil, damp and dry areas. It may live in cool and warm environments. This bug is a snail.

Most snails have shells on their back. They also have a slimy body. Did you know one of the biggest snails is the Giant African snail, it can get up to 15.5 inches long and weigh up to 2 pounds. Snails have a tonguelike body that has a tiny tooth.

There are thousands of species of snails. The slowest moving snail is the Garden snail. The largest snails lives in the seas near Australia and are about 2 feet long. Did you know that people all over the world eat snails? Did you learn something about snails? I hope you did!
