HOW TO NARROW YOUR SEARCH ON FAMILYSEARCH.ORG

Some searches on FamilySearch.org will give you many thousands of records to review and a lot of them may not

be in the area in which you are interested. So if you would like to look in just one state – for example New Jersey

– this is how you can do that.

Go to FamilySearch.org and click on Search and then Records.

When the map appears, click on the United States section:

A list of the collections will appear; check the boxes that you want to search and then…

Scroll up to put in your ancestor’s name.

Then scroll down and click on the “Search” box and the records will appear.

Below the “Search” box there is also a list of “image only” collections below the indexed collections. They are not indexed yet but you may browse them. Have fun!! Bucks County Genealogical Society, April 2015 newsletter, pbg
