How to Install Floor Muffler Underlayment

Supply List:

• Enough Floor Muffler Underlayment

• Flooring

• Broom

• Tape

• Utility Knife

Step 1: Clean Subfloor is Necessary

Make sure subfloor is spic and span - free of loose debris and dirt.

• Subfloor must be in good repair, free of obstacles, and dry.

Step 2: Subfloor Inspection

Signs of a bad subfloor:

• Your subfloor might need repair if it has these signs:

– Cracks

– Holes

– Protruding objects

– Unevenness

Step 3: Getting Started

• Roll out Floor Muffler Underlayment directly next to wall.

Step 4: Install Against the Wall

– Install with tape strip side next to wall

– Install with overlapping -film toward the open room.

Step 5: Parallel Installation

• Install parallel to the wall in the same direction as you plan to install the flooring planks.

Step 6: Cut Underlayment

• Cut Underlayment to fit when section is completed

Step 7: Unfold Film

• Before installing next roll, be sure to unfold film to join with new roll.

Step 8: Keep on Rolling

• Roll out the next roll of FloorMuffler UltraSeal in same orientation of previous row.

Step 9: Keeping it Together

• Make sure that the foam seams are butted together.

Step 10: Overlap Warning

• Overlap only the excess film and not the edges of the underlayment

Step 11: Remove and Stick

• Remove the adhesive liner and stick the foam to the film overlap.

Acclimate Your Flooring

• 48 hours before installation

Step 12: Keep Going

• Install the flooring per manufacturer’s instructions plank by plank completing your room a section at a time.
