Tips on how YOU can be a WINNER at your next Career Fair

Get the most out of your Career Fair with these insights from

recruiters and employers!!

Time to put your game face on!!!

Be early or one of the first few in line!! As the day goes on, the line can become quite long.Avoid waiting to talk with companies you have identified as potential future employers.

Employers want to see that you can present professionally

Be PREPARED!!!!

There are to many companies at an expo for you to talk with all of them. Do your research and narrow it to 5 -10 potential companies. Make sure you can speak with confidence when approaching a prospective employer.

What a Corporate Recruiter likes :

“When a candidate approaches me at job expo, it goes a long way when they begin the conversation with some knowledge about my company. It shows they took the extra effort and time to research what we do…..this is a big plus!!”

NOW is the time to start building your network !!!!

Take advantage of “company night” or “info sessions” that companies often sponsor before or after an Expo

Company Night and Information Sessions are great ways for you to begin to network in your chosen field. Even if you do not end up working for one of these companies now…..you may want to engage them in the future. Meeting like minded people, and adding them to your professional network will increase your chances of success when looking for that next great employer!

positive attitude! Be enthusiastic

about what you have

accomplished and what lies

ahead!!

Dont make the mistake of coming off desperate….like your fighting to land that new job!

By staying positive and keeping a smile on your face, you will endear yourself to many more

potential employers.

What recruiters like:Stay poised, don’t over sell yourself and be respectful of the recruiters personal space

Ask engaging questions, know your audience!

word, elaborate please!!!” – Damon Foster, Senior Recruiter

Ask A Recruiter !!!

You are more than a resume ……sell your personality!!

Not only are we looking for strong communication

skills, we need outgoing personalities as well!

A high GPA is great, but it
