Scope of Work

Our scope of work for the project included: 1. 3D Model Creation of Sheet Metal (Ducts, Associated Fittings & Equipment) & Mechanical Piping @ LOD 400 as per design document & project specification2. BIM Coordination - Updating the model to resolve clashes, as suggested by the client, Reviewed Interdisciplinary Coordination, Floor to Floor Alignment & Continuation to other areas3. Preparation of Detail Shop Drawings with annotation, dimension and tagging

BIM Start Date: January, 2018

Average Team Size: 5 Engineers

BIM End Date: April, 2018

Challenges & Solutions

A. Challenge - Design Mismatch - 1. Diffuser Inlet Size & Duct Size are not matching between design plan and mechanical schedule2. Stair Pressurization riser duct size mismatch between 1st, 2nd Floor & 3rd Floor - In the 1st Floor duct size - 26x10, in the 2nd Floor duct size - 16x16 and in the 3rd Floor, duct size - 28x12 Solution - Requested client to review and suggest on the sameB. Challenge - Coordination Problem - 1. As per FCU generic model extracted from Revit model, SA duct was coming from top outlet of FCU and clashing with SLAB due to space constrain Solution - Requested client to review the reference drawing and suggest on the samec. Challenge - Missing Information1. In third floor plan, there was no water connection for FCUs2. Moreover, routing for condensate drain pipe was not found Solution - Requested client to provide the missing information

1. Using BIM, the Pinnacle team searched and selected alternatives that meet project requirements, discovering and solving issues at an early stage, saving time, eliminating rework, improving quality and allowing everyone on the project team to be successful2. The effective application of BIM reaped benefits throughout the life cycle of the project 3. Pinnacle’s approach to virtual construction with BIM created the opportunity to identify problems earlier in the building process and facilitate BIM team to find better ways to communicate ideas, reducing errors and improving
