• Europe’s first fully accessible internet radio station for the blind

• Launched in 2003

• Developed by Glasgow City Council, Royal National Institute for the Blind, BBC

• Services include immediate availability of newspapers instead of 2-3 days wait for audio tape.

• Employs blind and visually impaired

• Gathers young people’s views and encourages citizenship.

WIRELESS STRATEGY• Many public/private initiatives but ad-hoc. No
