Version 4.0 Goals
• Replace Course Authoring Tool (CAT) & Domain Knowledge File Authoring Tool (DAT) with a user-friendly, intuitive GWT Graphical User Interface.
• Build a framework that can support easy integration with new authoring tools as they are created.
• Re-factor certain modules / services to in order to support the new approach.
• Plan for integration with SIMILE.
Authoring Tool (Dashboard) Concept
• The Dashboard will provide the following :– Overview of existing authored data.– Group authored data by type (e.g. *.dkf , *.course)– A search that will take the user to an applicable
“How-To” section/page .

– Allow for a “Wizard” approach providing guidance for each step.
– Allow an experience user to edit authoring file directly.
– Provide validation with each step.
