STATE TIMES NEWSBILLAWAR: FormerMinister Dr Manohar LalSharma while reacting onunion Budget for J&K saidthat the said budget is notup to the expectations ofpeople of J&K and said thatUnion Budget 2020 is notsatisfactory, as it would nei-ther help strengthening theeconomy nor ensure socialsecurity or development.

Dr Sharma said allocatedworking capital for develop-ment is very less whereassalary and administrativeexpenses are more. He saidat least 25 per cent of thebudget should have beenallocated for development.Manohar said that due torestrictions since last 7months and especially com-munication restrictions, theeconomy in J&K suffered aloss of more than Rs 16,000crore but no step was takento revive the economy ofJ&K which is already on

death bed. He said two ofthe biggest industry in J&Kare the tourism and agri-culture& both of them hastotally collapsed and nosteps has been taken by gov-ernment to up thrust themas meager sum of Rs 2,500crore for tourism sector isnot enough and said nofocus was done to providecompensation to the farm-ers for the damaged crops .

Further Manohar saidthat many small irrigationprojects under ARWSCscheme are pending due tonon-availability of funds.Dr Sharma welcomed thestep of allocation of Rs.2000 cr for 50000 jobs andsaid that hope this don'tremain on paper asPrevious Governor SatyaPal Malik also promise 50 kjobs to locals but nothinghappened and also demandjob reservation for the localyouth. Further he said thereare more than 62000 daily

casual workers working indifferent departments andgovt. dint provide anyroadmap for their regular-ization and also said noword came from govt onabolition of anti-youth, anti-employee SRO 202.

Manohar further assertedthat allocation to health isextremely low in budget, asonly Rs 69,000 cr allocationwill not fulfill health needsof people and requestedminimum 6 per cent ofbudget allocation to health.Further on decision to han-dover district hospitals toprivate sector under thePPP model, Manohartermed it as extremely dan-gerous as it will furtherbroaden the access tohealthcare by downtroddenlow economic group peopleof the country.

Overall he termed budgetas further rubbing salt onthe wounds of people andtermed it as unsatisfactory.

UDHAMPUR: In order toavoid the gathering andsocial contact at grocerystores while collecting otheressential items by the con-sumers District MagistrateUdhampur ordered for homedelivery of grocery items inUdhampur. After discussionswith concerned stakeholders,mechanism for delivery ofgrocery items at home wasfinalized and retail groceryunit holders were directed tostart home delivery of ordersimmediately. They were alsoinstructed not to allow anygathering inside & outsidethe stores. DM asked theretail store holders to estab-lish a mechanism for homedelivery of grocery items andto promote social distancingand to reduce gathering attheir retail stores to containthe spread of COVID-19.

DM also ordered for closureof all shops/ business unitsexcept essential suppliesunits like fruits, vegetables,chemists, grocery and dairy.

He further appealed to the publicof Kishtwar to follow the Do's andDon'ts regarding to curb thespreading COVID-19 as this would

STATE TIMES NEWSDODA: DistrictDevelopment Commiss-ioner, Dr Sagar D Doifodetoday chaired a meetingwith members of religiousorganizations, TradeUnions, Civil Society andappealed them to followadvisories regarding pre-cautions issued by Jammuand Kashmir Governmentand District Administrationto combat the spread ofNovel Coronavirus in thedistrict.

DDC sensitized the partic-ipants regarding preven-tions and precautionarymeasures including cleanli-ness, avoiding handshakesand social contact cleaninghands frequently with soapand other alcohol based sub-stances and other precau-tionary measures to avoidthe infection.

STATE TIMES NEWSKISHTWAR: DistrictDevelopment commissionerRajinder Singh Tara todayconducted an intensive tour ofKishtwar town and reviewedthe preparedness againstcorona virus .

He was accompanied byPresident Municipal councilKishtwar Raiz Ahmed Zargar,Nodal officer DILRMPIrshad Ahmed Butt,Executive Officer municipalcorporation Kishtwar TariqHussain Balwan among oth-ers.

During his visit to theHelipad Kishtwar, he reviewed

the status of essential medicalfacilities and also assessed theother precautionary measurestaken to prevent the passen-gers visiting from Jammu ,Marwah and Warwan.

He directed the CMO to posta full time doctor at helipadwho will conduct primaryexamination or screening ofthe visitors.

DDC further directed theEO Municipal Corporation tomake arrangements for thefogging and sanitization of thehelipad area where the pas-senger uses to stay temporari-ly.

Besides he visited theChowgan ground andreviewed the implementationof section 144 of Cr.PC. Hedirected the police personalsdeputed at the entrance pointsof the ground not to allow anyperson to avoid unnecessarygathering.

Meanwhile he also inspectedthe various government officesincluding the office ofMunicipal council Kishtwarand took first hand assess-ment of queue management,hygiene maintenance andoverall preparedness of the

offices to combat the threat ofspreading corona virus .

He directed the heads ofthese offices to stick to theprecautionary measuresalready issued through vari-ous advisories from time totime.

He further directed to theexecutive officer MC Kishtwarand to ARTO Kishtwar tomake necessary sanitarymeasures for the disinfectingthe passenger vehicles, streets,chowks, and dustbins.

Two drug peddlers nabbedwith 2,400 intoxicating capsules

STATE TIMES NEWSKATRA: Police on Thursday nabbed two drug peddlers

and recovered 2400 intoxicating capsules from their

possession.

As per the details, Katra Police laid a special Naka at

Matyal -Katra and during checking police recovered

2,400 Tramadol capsules from the possession of two

drug peddlers namely Ganesh Kumar alias Kalu and

Griever, both sons of Ramesh Chand, resident of

S.74/222 Block S.74 Harijan Camp Kanpur Pushpa

Bhawan South Delhi and arrested on spot.

A case FIR No 57/2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS

Act was registered at Police Station Katra against them.
