PURPOSETo provide newly hired operators with the basic knowledge required for a rapid and effective integration.

ROTATING MACHINERYFluid flows.Technology, working and operation of pumps.Practical exercise on pumps.Technology, workings and operation of compressors, steam turbines and electric motors.Practical exercise on a compressor or turbine.

Chemical solutions: composition and hazards.Vapor pressure and boiling point.Distillation: principles of the separation, distillation columns.Products. Quality control tests. SAFETY IN INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONSProduct hazards: flammability, toxicity.Risks related to the behavior and use of fluids.Emptying processes: blind and gasket fitting, degassing and inerting, entering a vessel.Example of procedures for shut-down and start-up.Case studies - Group work.
