Hey everyone,
Hope you’re all well and staying safe. Thank you again for sharing all your home learning last week. The children look so happy experiencing new learning at home whether that’s on line through the schools website or around the house; baking, making and creating. This week we’ve had lots of children experimenting with slime…..always a fun day and having lots of fun in the snow.
Please know that you are all doing an amazing job. Keep the pictures and e-mails coming and stay safe.

Extra information
In addition to the phonics lessons please watch one of the following video’s below each day with your child; you will need a pen and paper to hand. During the blending lessons please encourage your child to segment and blend the words along with Rosie AND write the words. I have also added 2 red word lessons. These are words which we cannot Fred talk, we call these words tricky words, and they are words we just need to know. Have a go and reading and writing them.

Activity 1: How many times can you write the sound ‘th’ on a piece of paper in 1 min. Can you beat your grown up? Remember 2 letters 1 sound.
Activity 2: Visit and play (your child has played it in class so they should be familiar with the game)

Activity 3: Can you write the words Fred what trying to say: thin, thick, three, this, that? Can you think of any other words the th sound? Have a go at writing these on a piece of paper. Now play- Erase the sound word, with your adult. To play you will need either a colour or paint. Your adult is going to say a th word you have written. You then have find that word on your piece of paper and then colour/paint over the word.

Activity 2: Play roll and read. You will need a colour and a dice. Roll the dice. Read a word on the row on the number you rolled. You will find the game in the home learning section). If you can’t print it out ask your grown up if they can write it out on a piece of paper for you.
Activity 3: Write out some ch th and sh words. E.g- chop, chip, thin, thick, ship, shed. Put some music on, when the music stops you must read the word you are closest to.

If the weather is nice do this outside with water, a paint brush and the floor. How many times can you paint the sound th with water on the floor or on the wall outside?
Activity 2: Write the sounds ch, th, sh and qu on a piece of paper. Ask your grown up to cover up the sounds with a towel or scarf and take one away. Can you guess which sound has been taken? Then swap roles. Can your grown up guess which sound you have taken?
