Washing supplies
• Purpose: to remove sweat, dirt, mud, etc. from the horse’s body.
• Use all over, take care around the face and ears.
Curry combs
• Purpose: To bring the dirt to the surface of the coat.
• Use in small circular sections all over body, except face and legs.
Stiff and Finish Brushes
• Purpose: To remove the dirt from the coat and to make the coat shine.
• Use in a "flicking" action, along the hair growth pattern, all over body
Comb
• Purpose: to remove knots from mane and tail
• Use: in the same direction as hair growth, on the mane and tail
Hoof picks
• Purpose: to clean out hooves by removing stones, etc.
• Use on base of hooves.
Sweat scraper
• Purpose: to remove excess water from the coat
• Use all over the body, except the face. Scrape in the same direction as the hair growth pattern.

• Used for western riding
