Injection Procedures for BERO™ Biosurfactant
Basic data requires for injection design
1) Drilling and completion dates, total depth, return top of cement, cement
plug depth, casing size and setting depth, wall thickness, distance
between casing (tubing) head and bushing, location of casing collar nearby
packer sticking point, maximum well deviation and depth, commissioning
(injection starting) date and cementing quality
2) Perforated horizon, perforated interval, actual perforated horizon, actual
perforated interval, thickness, number of layers and perforation
parameters (gun type, density, porosity, penetrability and mud content)
3) Production status: current daily volume of produced liquid, oil production,
water cut, pump diameter, working parameter, pump efficiency, oil pay,
working fluid level, sand (wax) content, wellhead oil pressure, casing
pressure, total salinity, formation temperature and production status of
adjacent well of the same formation
4) Properties of crude oil: density, viscosity, freezing point, gum, asphalt and
wax content
5) Current status of down-hole string
6) Analysis of problems of well under construction in geological solution
7) Basic geological drawings: comparison diagram of small layers of reservoir,
deposition facies diagram of small layers, reservoir fence diagram,
reservoir structural diagram, well pattern diagram, etc.
Preparation for construction
1) Pretreatment of sand producing formation
Before the application of BERO™ biosurfactant, sand control treatment should
be conducted on production wells of sand producing formation.
2) Treatment of high water cut formation
As we all know, oil recovery = sweep efficiency × oil displacement efficiency. In
order to tap the potential of medium and low-penetrability formation, it is
necessary to improve sweeping efficiency of injected water and adjust the
produced fluid profile of production well. Before the application of BERO™
biosurfactant, high-permeability layers of formation should undergo water
shut-off and profile control. Under the good cleaning effect of BERO™
biosurfactant, treated formation certainly will obtain high production with small
input.

Onsite BERO™ treatment processes
1) Prepare liquid: V=лr2·h·Φ
Where:V—Dosage of BERO™ biosurfactant, expressed in m3
л—3.14
r—Treatment radius of production well, expressed in m
h—Effectively thickness of reservoir, expressed in m
Φ—Effective porosity of reservoir, expressed in %
2) Pull out production string, set tubing to the downhole and flush well with
large displacement.
3) Set construction string (sealing test must be conducted on packer (if any)).
4) Squeeze BERO™ biosurfactant.
5) Squeeze displacement fluid and push BERO™ biosurfactant into the target
zone.
6) Soaking period for 3-5 days.

7) Pull out construction string.
8) Set production string according to planning requirement and resume
production.
Description: Only backflow is needed without moving the pipe string if such
operation as pump inspection is not necessary in production wells. Then the
following steps will be fine: Step 1, Step 4, Step 5, Step 6 and Step 8.
