The air and us…

• Our lungs inhale over 2,000 gallons of air per day.

• We take about 23,000 breaths per day.

• The surface area inside our lungs is about the same as a tennis court.

• Our lungs are the only internal organs that are directly exposed to the environment.

• A person can live without:– food for about 30 days, – water for about 3 days,– air about 3 minutes !
