automobile • conclusion
Embedded system
• An embedded system is a system containing a number of simple hardware parts that are fed with a code (generally called as embedded programming language).
• Thus a set of instructions is passed to the hardware on how to operate according to the operator need.
Embedded systems in automobiles
Real time applications Applications

Road to vehicle communication
Vehicle to vehicle communication
How is Automation Achieved?
• An automated system uses– Some devices as its eyes and ears– Some devices as its brain to process the
data collected through those eyes and ears
– Some devices as its arms to perform actions
sensors Controller (microprocessor)
actuators
Achieving automationSensors :• Some of the sensor systems used areGps,speed sensor, skidding sensor,Sensors to detect an unlocked belt.Actuarors :• They are those devices which take
control of brakes when skidding is sensed.
• Device which injects fuel to the engine.
Road to vehicle communication
• Sensors sense the prdestrians and the vehicles movments and warns the driver in the car accordingly,if he wants to take a turn
Adaptive cruise control• Vehicles use the
RADAR system for collecting the information about its surroundings.
• It thus automatically manages its speed
How will all Microconrollers achieve a good communication through out the
system ?
EMBEDDED BUS LINE
Embedded bus lineController area network (CAN)CAN or Controller Area Network or CAN-bus is an ISO standard computer network protocol and bus standard, designed for microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other without a host computer
Conclusion :• Thus Embedded systems fruits give
comfort to the user through its applications, but it doesn’t mean that human intelligence should be kept off completely.
