ETI was founded, at Université de Geneve, Switzerland

• University of Texas Brownsville and Texas Southernmost College (UTB/TSC), started a fully online program of its kind in the country

Distance education dates at least as early as 1728, when "an advertisement in the Boston Gazette...[named] 'Caleb Phillips, Teacher of the new method of Short Hand" was seeking students for lessons to be sent weekly.

e-learning started in 1960, with psychology professors at Stanford using computers to teach math and reading to elementary school children in Palo Alto.

Core courses = 1 or 2 modules of Legal, Commercial , IT, Medical, Technical

Electives = Translating the News, Translation for Marketing and Advertising, Audiovisual translation, etc

Non-translation classes, such as CAT, Project Management
