We are delighted to announce that the winner of the Sir Austin RobinsonMemorial Prize for the best paper presented by a Young Economist at theSociety's 1999 Annual Conference and subsequently published in THE ECO-

NOMIC JOURNAL is Daniel Millimet, Southern Methodist University, for thepaper `The Impact of Children on Wages, Job Tenure, and the Division ofHousehold Labour'. The paper is published in this issue.

The value of the prize is £1,000.

The next Sir Austin Robinson Memorial Prize will be awarded to the bestyoung economist paper presented at the Annual Conference at the Uni-versity of St Andrews in July 2000. The de®nition of a young economist isa person who has not previously presented a paper at an RES conference,and is a postgraduate student or has completed a PhD less than threeyears before the submission date. The paper must be presented at theSociety's Annual Conference by the young economist and subsequentlypublished in THE ECONOMIC JOURNAL.
