THE ECONOMIC JOURNAL MARCH 2000 d EDITORIAL We are delighted to announce that the winner of the Sir Austin Robinson Memorial Prize for the best paper presented by a Young Economist at the Society’s 1999 Annual Conference and subsequently published in THE ECO- NOMIC JOURNAL is Daniel Millimet, Southern Methodist University, for the paper ‘The Impact of Children on Wages, Job Tenure, and the Division of Household Labour’. The paper is published in this issue. The value of the prize is £1,000. The next Sir Austin Robinson Memorial Prize will be awarded to the best young economist paper presented at the Annual Conference at the Uni- versity of St Andrews in July 2000. The definition of a young economist is a person who has not previously presented a paper at an RES conference, and is a postgraduate student or has completed a PhD less than three years before the submission date. The paper must be presented at the Society’s Annual Conference by the young economist and subsequently published in THE ECONOMIC JOURNAL. Alison Booth
