NEW INITIATIVES:-

Introduction of Green Channel Scheme under MDM.

Introduction/Designing of MDM web-portal by MDM cell.

Opening of Jt. MDM Bank Accounts for all schools.

Centralized payment of FCI. Training of web-portal at district level.Sensitization of CCH by nutritional expert at the

district level.

Best Practices:-

Egg & Meat being provided once in a month.

State is providing more than mandatory state share in primary category. i.e. Rs.0.65/child/day.

Cooking agencies/PTA/SMC are actively involved

in serving MDM in the schools.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism.

No complaints has been received so far.

State Contigency/Emergency Plan Plan: All officers, school heads, cooking agencies

have been sensitized on safety measures viz:- Disaster Management. Combating fire incidents. First Aid applications. Immediate information.

School heads are directed to seek immediate help from Block level officers, Fire Deptt, Police Station, Panchayats and PTA.

Teaching & Non Teaching staff have also been sensitized on safety measures and deal emergency situation.

PROBLEMS & ISSUES.

As per the prevailing market price, cooking cost for both Pry & up-pry needs to be enhanced appropriately.

Procedural delay in releasing the fund.

MME of 1.8 % is very meager and needs to be enhanced.

There is no food tasting lab in the state [suggestion solicited]

mid-day meal at school supervised by teachers.
