The service needs to be simple, cheap and easily available.

A web based system is likely to be the most effective. Although the service should be as cheap and free as possible, security and IPR issues still need to be addressed – probably through registration.

Examples of existing CV/resume sites include:http://www.resumetube.com/

http://www.cvizz.com/

The service would be ideal for smaller companies, charities, NGOs, etc. that do not have the human resource / recruitment capabilities of larger organisations.

Already companies are using sites such as YouTube to advertise their recruitment opportunities, while individuals use the sites to advertise themselves.

Examples can be seen at:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YeXt31NUiI (KPMG

advice)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmsP14aDVjc

(JP Morgan)These could also be used

for signposting/training for VIDEO

All potential stakeholders need to be involved in the development of an effective service.

This is to ensure that all needs are met and that all stakeholders retain a sense of ‘ownership’ in the system.

All users of the system need to have relevant training in effective ways of presentation and use.

The service would be ideal to help people develop their CV and presentational skills as part of a life long learning process.

A number of CV training and advice sites exist that give guidance regarding the kinds of material and presentational skills that are effective could be used as potential training materials.
