will lead to religion-based discrimination

in granting citizenship, which was

against the secular values enshrined in

the Constitution.

General Mukund Naravane becomes new Indian Army chief

● General Manoj Mukund Naravane took

charge as the 28th Chief of Army Staff.

● He succeeded General Bipin Rawat who

retired on 31st December, 2019.

● Earlier, General Naravane was serving as

vice chief of the Indian Army.

● General Mukund Naravane is an alumnus

of the National Defence Academy and the

Indian Military Academy.

● He was commissioned into the 7th

battalion, the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment

in June 1980.

● जनरि मनोज मुकंुि नरर्ने ने 28 र्ें सेनाध्यक्ष

के रूप में पिभार संभािा।

● उन्ोनें जनरि दबदपन रार्त का स्थान दिया, जो

Cycling to be included in upcoming Khelo India games

in the 3rd Khelo India youth games in

Guwahati beginning from the 10th of

January.

● Lawn bowls and cycling will be included in

the Khelo India for the first time.

● The cultural events from Assam, North East

and the rest of the country will be held from

13th to 15th January.

● A mega inaugural ceremony is being

planned at Sarusajai.

● 37 र्ीमों के 6500 एथिीर् 10 जनर्री से

ICC ने 2023 से पांच दिर्सीय रे्स्ट को समाप्त की योजना बनाई

scrap five-day Tests from 2023.

● The ICC could make four-day Tests

mandatory from 2023 as part of the World

Test Championship, primarily to free up the

crowded calendar.

● Tests have been played over five days

through most of their 140-year history.

● The last such Test was played between

England and Ireland earlier this year. South

Africa and Zimbabwe too played one in

2017.
