characterized by formal structure, the reduction of natural forms to their geometrical equivalents, and the organization of planes of a represented object independently of representational requirements.

• Analytic (1910-1912)• Radical and influential– During WWI– Consisted of cubes, arranged in superimposed, transparent

planes• Synthetic (1912-1914)• Introduction of bright colors, fattening of space and the

elaboration of the picture surface with decorative devices as the stippling technique from neoimpressionism.
