Add layers
Right-click and Export
Data to your geodatabase
Then do the same for EastLib
and Parcel
Right-click and open the attribute table
for Parcel
Scroll to the right of the table, then
right-click Zone and open the Field
Calculator
Click and type to get

Select the parcels listed at the top of page 289. Hold the Ctrl key to select more
than one.
Note: there is a typo in the book. Use the PARCEL_ field, not PARCEL_ID to make
your selections.
Open the field
calculator for Zone. Type
“X” (with quotations).
Then close the
table
Click to select the three tax fields, as seen
below
Click inside the box to select SUM
Type the names of each zone type and
select colors
Switch to Layout
view and make your
layout
Your final map should look
