Air Purification Corrosion Monitoring & Electronic Equipment Failure Prediction

2

Proven Leadership in Air Purification

MWV has been monitoring levels of corrosive gases in order to protect assets from the damaging effects in industrial facilities for over 30 years. Our technologies were designed and deployed in MWV Pulp and Paper mills to improve uptime performance and reduce electronic equipment failures. ISA standards were written considering the MWV corrosion research results. Today MWV can accurately predict equipment failure expectations based on our monitoring technologies in a wide variety of industrial settings.

Our state of the art carbon technology eliminates unwanted odors, removes corrosive gases, removes target contaminants, and supplies purified air more efficiently.

MWV corrosion coupons are designed, fabricated and evaluated by MWV personnel under strict procedures. Our patented technology allows us to determine the risk to equipment in any given space, and provide you with accurate data on which to make important business decisions.

Monitoring ensures continuous protection

Our innovative air purification technology does it better

The system design dramatically reduces the pressure drop and allows for fast and effective contact at velocities up to six times greater than traditional pelletized carbon beds. This pressure drop reduces the blower horsepower by up to 50%.

It is half the size and a fraction of the weight of a pellet based system.

Our systems have significantly smaller footprints and much lower weights, making installation simple and less costly than traditional pellet bed systems.

Our systems are easy to use and maintain because they do not require vacuum trucks, pellet handling or confined space entry that is associated with media change out.

Unlike pellet based systems which typically break through after about 66% utilization of the pellet media, in properly rotated systems, 100% of the media is used and media modules are replaced over time.

There are many economical benefits of our new technology:

You should not have to worry about corrosion.

Even low level corrosive gases are a major problem for electronic control devices in almost all municipal and industrial facilities.

MWV corrosion protection monitoring services help to predict and eliminate this significant cause of equipment downtime and increase process reliability. Our unique total system approach ensures continuous air purity and corrosion protection through continuous corrosion monitoring.

MWV offers a variety of corrosion monitoring programs to fit various plant needs:

Pre-monitoring studiesWhether you require a plant-wide study or a single room evaluation, MWV can provide and install/remove the coupons at the optimal intervals and provide reports and recommendations for each space that is a potential concern.

Protected space monitoringContinuing to monitor protect spaces is important. This monitoring ensures that the protection system is functional, being used properly, and that no changes have been made to the protected space or protection equipment that may compromise equipment. This service is offered FREE OF CHARGE to spaces being protected with MWV equipment in good standing.

Our corrosion monitoring services doesn’t end with the coupon. The exposed coupons are sent to our lab for detailed analysis, and a comprehensive report is generated.

One common use of the coupon is to conduct a site survey to find out what the baseline corrosion rates are for each room. We use that data to create a long term corrosion protection plan with our clients.

A typical report will include:

Detailed recommendations for improving or maintaining room conditions

Notifications about critical items, including room pressure issues, carbon replacement schedules and recommended action plans

Our reports are designed to be a clear, concise ‘snapshot’ of your situation so that you have the information needed to make informed decisions about protecting the given space from corrosive gas.
