• your certificate of languageproficiency in English

1. Application Process

End of July: hochschulstart.de will send you an e-mail if you have been accepted at Ulm University of Applied Sciences. Check your status under „myapplications“

18th August: Deadline to accept the offer. After accepting the study place, you will receive the Notification of Admission via e-mail. You must enroll within 10 days from the date on the notification.

2. Admission Process

Please note: If necessary, please apply for your visa as soon as you receive your Notification of Admission, toensure you can start your program in time. The date of the appointment should be as soon after the 24th of July as possible.

Documents you will need for enrollment:

• Completed and signed registration form

• Current health insurance certificate for students (three copies)

• Evidence that the required semester fees have been paid

• Officially certified copy of your recognition letter by the Studienkolleg Konstanz

do not need to take out a health insurance policy in Germany.

They only need to bring proof of health insurance from their home countries. You should be able to get an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) from your insurance company.

All students in Germany must have health insurance from

• a private or • a public insurance company.

Without it, you cannot enroll at universities in Germany. We recommend you find out as much as possible before deciding on either private or public health insurance.

Please note: A travel insurance policy is not sufficient forthis purpose.

If you do not have accommodation upon arrival, you can check in at a hostel or hotel, while you look for permanent accommodation. It is advised to book a room in advance.

Please note: Beware of rental fraud. Never transfer money for an apartment that you haven’t seen in person.

• in Baden-Württemberg, international students who enter from outside the EU for the purpose of studying are expected to pay a fee of 1500 Euros per semester

• In addition, every student has to pay the administration fee of 175,50 Euros per semester:

Overview of Fees

1. If you cancel your enrollment or study place (i.e. you have not started the course) at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, you will have to apply for a reimbursement of the fees by the end of the month in which lectures start at the latest (31 March for the summer semester and 31 October for the winter semester.

2. If you are being removed from the register of students (after starting your studies) due to stopping or breaking off your course, you must apply at the latest by April 15 for the end of the winter semester and November 7 for the end of the summer semester.

→ submit the form at your faculty’s office

A degree is the path to many opportunities, but it also comes at a cost. We have put together the most important information for you regarding financial assistance.

Financial assistance forstudents

• When your financial resources, those of any spouse and your parents is not sufficient to cover your financial needs while you are studying, you are eligible for BAföG

• half the money is received as a grant. The other half must be paid back in suitable instalments– interest-free.

• The current maximum BAföG amount for students is 735 euros per month

Apart from scholarships which require particular personal attributes or specialist knowledge, there are numerous scholarship programs which anyone can apply for:

• scholarship students receive a monthly grant of 300 Euros

• financial assistance is generally approved for one year, starting in September

3. Deutschlandstipendium

• for application, evidence of your performance in the first two semesters is required

• the loan is between 100 and 300 Euros per month

• the loan will be paid for a maximum of 24 months

• earnings and personal wealth are not taken into account

• repayments start four years from the first payment

4. Student loans

• part-time job as an option for financing your studies

• first experiences in the world of work

• you need a Visa with a work permit

• you can e.g. look for jobs at:
