Bordered by Russia to the northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest.

Declared independence from Soviet Union in August of 1991.

40% of Belarus is covered by forest.

Many streams and rivers flow through the country.

Many of his artworks have a mosaic like quality that provides depth and comes from the use of a palette knife.

Considered a Russian-Israeli modern impressionist.

Has homes in Boca Raton and Cancun Mexico.
