Introduction:Inthislessonchildrenpractiseclothesvocabularywithflashcardsandonlinegames.Theylistentoandwatchastoryaboutaboyandhisfavouriteclothes,andthenjoininwithasongaboutclothes.Theywillthenwriteabouttheirfavouriteclothingitemintheclosingactivity

Warmup(approx.10minutes):

• Drawasuitcaseontheboard.Telltheclassthatyoursuitcaseisveryheavy(andmimedraggingheavysuitcase).Cantheyguesswhat’sinit?(Clothes)Cantheyguesswhichclothes?Askforhandsuptoguessandacceptanyanswerswitha‘Maybe,yes’.

• Telltheclass‘InmysuitcaseI’vegot...’,showtheclothesflashcardsonebyoneandsaythenameoftheitem,askthemtorepeat.Sticktheitemsinsidethesuitcaseontheboard.

• Pointtoeachflashcardagainandaskstudentstosaythewordoutloudagain.Givethestudentssometimeto

• Erasethesuitcaseandtakedowntheflashcardssothattheboardisbareagain.Thisisimportantbecausethenextactivitywillbetestingthestudent’scomprehensivelevel.

• Handoutthe“Inmysuitcase”activitysheet.• Dividethestudentsintogroupsof2andexplaintheactivitysheet.• Theymustcorrectlymatchthevocabularywordtothepicture.• Couldbehelpfultoencouragethestudentstosoundoutthelettersofeachwordto
