CLEAN IMPROVE YOUR MEAL!
Experience taught us that we use all of our senses when we savour food, not only the taste. We don’t eat, indeed, only with the mouth: it’s necessary to involve the sense of smell, sight and touch so that the experience would be really remarkable. We would gladly sit down to the table only if everything was in order.
Sitting to the table is, by now, a complete experience that will
satisfy all the five senses. Food definitely plays a key role because
it stimulates the taste, the sense of smell as well as the sight, but
there are also other factors that influence our experience at the
restaurant. A recent studies of the University of Arkansas have
shown, in fact, that music has effect on the way in which
people perceived the flavour of food. So we know that the
acoustic environment plays an important role on this kind
of experience as well as the tactile and visual feeling of
textiles used in the room: softness, freshness, cleanliness and
hygiene have a great incidence on it. Approaching the napkin
to the mouth stimulates all the senses and this feeling it should be,
at least, equal to the dish. All that is connected to the certainty of
cleaning, hygiene and professionalism of the textiles treatment.
Trend
People at restaurant: hygiene is the first request
85% of people who eats out wouldn’t return into a restaurant if they considered it dirty, even though the food and the price were good.
According to an Ipsos MORI research
the hygienic conditions are one of
the key factors for choosing a restaurant
for the Western Europe customers. Clients
want to eat a good meal but only in a
well maintained and clean place, in which
surfaces and fabrics are hygienically safe.
According to this survey, therefore, the
consumers are frightened, in the first
place, by dirty crockery, cutlery and
tissues (35%), then, stained uniforms
and poor personal grooming of the
waiters (34%), unclean kitchen (28%),
foul odours (24%), and, finally, dirty
bathrooms (23%). A dirty restaurant or
simply perceived as such, can lead to a
huge economic damage for the owner,
that must solved this problem effectively
and as quickly as possible.

THE HYGIENE IS À LA CARTE We know that the sensory experience in a restaurant begins before eating. A well maintained and clean table is the best entrée to start a positive and long-lasting relationship with clients.
Our qualitative opinion about a restaurant begins immediately, when we arrive at the site. It starts exactly at the moment
we take place, touch the tablecloth and “unroll” the napkin... Throughout the waiting, we have the time to understand
the level of service, the type of location and what will come into the pot. Every restaurant, of course, is different from
each other and, actually, want to stand out clearly from other places, by the menu as well as by its look. So, by this point of
view, the in-site laundry service is the best solution: it allows to have a customized textile supply, following accurately and
timely the owner’s requests, and is also able to treat the fabrics with care and attention, without losing sight of the cost
management. This solution allows, indeed, to optimize the staff’s activities as well as the type of detergents, the washing
programs and the peaks and dips of customers’ requests. Furthermore, during a season in which we talk more and more
about organic restaurants and environmental issues, we propose the farm-to-table laundry service! If you adopted the
BIO cooking philosophy, it would be a nonsense that your linen travels for hours, every day, towards an external washing
service! The modern indoor laundry system proposed by Grandimpianti, allows the management of textile supply even
by unskilled users, thanks to the equipment with automated processes. So the fabrics are always in order, clean, sanitized
and ready for use, without waste or additional costs.
The investment on linen supply and their following maintenance, washing and ironing are an item of expenditure that should not be underestimated. The decay and the premature ageing of these goods should be carefully calculated.

The catering services cannot disregard from the hygiene, in the interest of health, of course, but above all to ensure a positive clients’ experience and build a long-lasting relationship.
ACT ON THE SPOT, NOT ON THE CLOTHThe long-lasting maintenance of the textile fibre guarantee a lower investment in linen by the owner and, at the same time, the hygiene and the freshness on the table.
Every restaurateur knows
that part of the necessary
investment for the management of
his business comes from the textile
supply, not only as tablecloths
and napkins, but also as uniforms
and fabrics used by the entire
staff. The more its quality will last
over the time, the more the first
investment has been fruitful. We
must consider, however, that the
restaurant’s linen is constantly
exposed to stress, not only due
to the stains of oily, egg, wine,
coffee or sauces, but even of the
make-up! And this, unfortunately,
is just the appetizer, remaining
on the HORECA theme... The
biggest source of stress for the
fabrics is the washing process
(washing, drying and ironing)
especially when it’s performed
in an inappropriate manner and
with an unreliable equipment.
High temperature, aggressive and
general detergents, mechanical
action of washing machine
or dryer and elevated ironing
temperatures, put the resistance
and the lifetime of fibres to the
test. All that undermines, wash
after wash, the feeling of quality
that the restaurateur would like
to offer to his customers.
Know-how: the consequences of textiles stress
We are able to use the experience that our company has developed on a large scale market in the daily work of family and medium-sized businesses.
What’s the main consequence that fabrics’ stress may cause to the
catering activity? Certainly the increasing of the running costs,
due to the necessity of replacing, completely or partially, the textile supply
became unusable. Increasingly high cost management, dissatisfaction
for the presence of permanent stains (due to the fibre destroyed by
high temperatures or aggressive detergents), initial colouring turned
from white into yellow or pale grey, faulty ironing: these are some of
the reasons why the restaurateurs leave the in-site laundry service and
rely on the rental service or, even more drastically, on the paper supply.
While at first glance these seem advantageous solutions, actually both
are very expensive. The rental, indeed, requires that the restaurateur
adapts himself to the standard supply of the centralized laundry, giving
up at any chance of expression of his personality through the linen as
well as he usually does by the dishes. Paper supply, however, produces a
radical change of the restaurant’s image and of the perception that the
customer has about its service. Finally, it’s a very common misconception
believe that paper is environmentally friendly and preferable than the
fabric. According to a recent study by Ambiente Italia, it’s the reusable
textile linen to have a lower environmental impact compared to the
disposable, saving 80% of non-renewable resources, 60% of energy and
water, 55% of greenhouse gas emissions and 75% of waste. How to
combine, therefore, acceptable costs, quality and environment?

WASHING SLIPS MOORINGSIn many regions of the world the best and safe way to get around is by ferry, a vehicle often equipped with every comfort, including a restaurant. So, even in this peculiar circumstance, it’s necessary to ensure the best cleaning results with minimal effort.
A ferry trip is a relaxing
way to get around,
which often involves
navigating for long distances
and many hours. These ships
are often equipped with bars
and restaurants to make
the stay as comfortable
as possible and satisfy the
needs both of passengers and
crew, with a few differences
from the mainland service.
It’s important even here
ensuring hygiene and
cleanliness, but we have
to consider some logistical
issues: the in-site laundry
must necessarily treat all
the textile fibres with high
efficiency and without
waste. Everything must be
ready and flawless in time
for the next trip.
Know-how:
CLEANING AND HYGIENE INTO THE STORMThe confined and, sometimes, cramped space aboard require the design of ergonomic
and comfortable work environments that takes, also, into consideration the peculiarities of the vehicle. It’s notorious that cosy and tailored workplace contribute to high levels of staff performance. Furthermore let’s not forget the water issue.
Having reliable, safe and eco-saving equipment is important,
especially aboard. Well, talking about reducing the consumption of a laundry room on a ship probably makes you smile, considering the abundance of water around; but it’s a very serious problem. The sea water is salty and, therefore, unusable for the washing process: textile cleaning needs freshwater, definitely expensive and limited on a ship. Moreover, a high spin washing
machine (with tub and drum built on springs) could have serious stability problems in the event of slight sea, especially in a ferry boat that is often less stable than a cruise ship. Don’t forget, then, that we are on blue water and it’s crucial to have reliable and safe equipment, which shall not break. Here Grandimpianti comes into play: thanks to the DWS (dynamic weighing system) patent all of our washing machines consume only the freshwater and detergents
strictly necessary, without waste. About safety and reliability, then, we don’t accept compromise: safety approved board devices and redundant systems ensure the highest standard of efficiency and effectiveness, even in the ocean. And what about rough seas? The GWM GWN machines, thanks to their rigid structure (without springs), allows to work even into the storm!

GENTLEMEN, THE MENU HAS CHANGED!DINING OUT
Within the walls of a restaurant the scenario remains unchanged for a while, but when we organise a dinner,
an event or a meeting in a different site, the textile kit needs to change: a ceremony in an ancient manor or
a dinner by the sea, rather than a wedding into the park, require greater flexibility in regard to the preparation of
tables, chairs, waiters’ uniforms and all that we define textile supply. Each event requires tailored supplies, because
the location changes from time to time, and also because the client and his tastes are always different. A banqueting
company needs an in-site laundry service: it’s the only solution capable of responding in a professional and timely
manner, to all these changing needs.

Recently the customers’ eating habits has changed as well as the new trends of service and venues available in the market. Customers have increasingly clear ideas about what they want, they are very demanding and precise, requiring more and more customized solutions. So even the chain that is responsible for the maintenance of fabrics must consider that, and adapt itself.
Beyond the traditional restaurants, in recent years, have been added new situations and environments, used as alternative
venues for receptions, parties and gala dinners and associated by the same desire to ensure the highest quality of service, both in the dishes that in the outfitting. So, the textile outfit takes on new life, becoming one of the crucial tools able to customize and increase the value of event locations. Even the most exclusive.
Banqueting. It’s a growing phenomenon that requires flexible, fast and contextualized solutions: each location requires specific outfitting, because has special and unique needs. Here, more than elsewhere, the scenography is crucial.

Aiming to win the battle for cleanliness and hygiene and responding to the needs of
different type of customers, we have developed an integrated system of products (washing machines, tumble dryers and ironers) who speak the same language: the user’s one. Products that know how to communicate effectively and positively to each other, ensuring optimal performance. Three families of products in which uniformity and modularity are the key concepts.
You can find the uniformity even in their names. Our products, indeed, have the initial
G followed by a letter indicating the family they belong to. A simple, fast and functional way to make the product easily recognizable:
Three families of products designed to combine in an effective and modular way the peculiarities of each machines with the uniformity of their language and performance.
