Professionally Supported by:
Inspired by President Peres, Cisco recognized the social and economic
potential of empowering graduates in the Arab sector in Israel: Arabs
citizens of Israel constitute 20% of the population in Israel, though they
make up less than 0.4% of the workforce in the Hi Tech industry. Today,
Ma’antech prepares, supports and integrates newly qualified Israeli Arab
engineers into the burgeoning Hi Tech industry in Israel.
Ma’antech is a joint initiative
of Cisco and the Office of
the President of the State
of Israel, whose goal is to
integrate Israeli Arabs into
Israel’s Hi Tech Industry.

“I saw in the newspaper that the President of Israel and CEOs from Hi Tech companies launched a program geared at recruiting Arabs for technology companies so I thought I’d try my luck…I was told there was steep competition for the job I was offered, and this time I really felt that I’d been given an equal chance.” Muhammad Masri, recruited to ECI through Ma’antech.
Since February 2011 a total of 380 Hi Tech graduates and studentshave been recruited by Ma’antech’s Hi Tech partners, andMa’antech partners have made a commitment to President Peresthat by the end of 2012 this number will reach 1000.

Ma’antech is founded on the principle that investing in highly educated
graduates from the Arab sector would benefit the Hi Tech sector with
an influx of young, motivated engineers, and will have an impact on both
Jewish and Arab citizens and their communities.
Ma’antech has recruited the leading Hi Tech companies and professional
organizations to form a strategic coalition of partners committed to the
goal. Together, Ma’antech is ensuring that candidates receive mentoring
during their job-application process, professional training in preparation
for employment, and are supported throughout the recruitment process.
Community-based Ambassadors reach out to students on campus and
recent graduates in order to educate about the initiative and encourage
qualified candidates to enrol and apply for work through Ma’antech.
Candidates find a suitable placement that fits their skills and career
aspirations. Partner companies also receive diversity training to prepare
them to receive their new recruits:
The services Ma’antech provides are continually evolving, as partners
identify new needs and gaps which need addressing and as lessons
are learned. Through its unique coalition of professional partners:
KavMashve, Tsofen, MIT-Experis, Appleseeds Academy and Cisco,
Ma’antech provides a needs-based support structure for both
candidates and the member Hi Tech companies.
“The training for our recruiting managers really changed the way they looked at their parameters for recruitment. Afterwards, we found ourselves recruiting totally differently and opening ourselves up to a new set of candidates”Sivan Malchi, Senior Staffing Consultant, Microsoft
