“Strive to enter through
the narrow gate; many
will attempt to enter but
will not be strong
enough” The monks of the Skellig
Michael monastery, built in the
sixth century off the coast of Ireland, would
have understood what Jesus meant by the hard
way and the narrow gate. Jesus never promises
an easy, comfortable life. It is not for the faint-
hearted; for it is an active, heart-pumping
adventure, as we throw off things that weigh us
down and wrong choices that entangle us. We
race TOWARD what God has in store. He
promises that if we persist, seeking His will in
perseverance and faith, it will end with
everlasting life in God’s Kingdom.
