SAP Knowledge Base Article Symptom l When distributing a central contract to ERP from SRM, the 'ME 062 Account assignment mandatory for material' is displayed.l Error during contract distribution to ERP. Environment l SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) 7.0 and higherl SAP enhancement package for SAP Supplier Relationship Managementl Extended Classic, Classic scenario. Reproducing the Issue 1. LogintotheSRMapplicationviathebrowserwithauserthathastheStrategicPurchaserroleassigned. 2. Click on the Strategic Purchasing tab.3. Then click on Contract Management.4. Under the Create Documents section on the side panel, select Contract.5. In the new contract screen, highlight the contract type and select Start.6. Enter all details on header and item level of the contract.7. Also enter in the distribution details either at header or at item level.8. Click on Release. Cause The ERP backend system expects account assignment in some cases in contracts, so when the ERP system tries to create the contract it will check for account assignment details. When it finds no account assignment information at all, it will issues the Error ME 062. Resolution 1. To change the error message to a warning:2. Log into ERP with an Administrator user.3. Enter transaction OLME.4. Expand the 'Environmental Data' node.5. Click on Define Attributes for System Messages.6. In the pop-up screen double click on 'System Messages'.7. Here enter the message details, in this case ME 062 and select W under the Cat column.8. Save this entry.
