With the creation of a new Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre (ACIC) at St Vincent’s Health Australia operating under the auspices of the Cardiology Department, an exciting opportunity exists for dynamic, goal-oriented and experienced Cardiac Radiographers. Four positions are available:

St Vincent’s Health Australia is an internationally- recognised leader in the provision of clinical, research and education and is Australia’s largest provider of not-for-profit services in the health and aged care sectors. The Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre, due to open shortly, will provide patients with the fastest, least invasive and most accurate assessment of most heart conditions and will be used for world-class research.
The Chief Cardiac Radiographer will play a major role in the ACIC leadership team in the commissioning and operation of this new facility. The successful applicant will have significant experience in the management of a multi-modality imaging department with specific skills in Cardiac CT and MRI.
The Chief Cardiac Radiographer will establish and manage the ongoing operations and staffing of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre (ACIC). The position will be the lead practitioner for both CT and MRI modalities in this state-of-the-art cardiac imaging facility and will also be responsible for monitoring and achieving clinical and corporate KPIs, service demand and revenue targets.
The Chief Cardiac Radiographer will coordinate the research agenda of the ACIC in partnership with the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, the Cardiology Department and St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney’s Executive.
The Senior Cardiac Radiographers will have expertise in either CT or MRI, preferably in cardiac imaging.

Chief Cardiac RadiographerPOSITION PURPOSE

2x Senior RadiographersPOSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Radiographer will lead the operations for radiography tasks in cardiac CT and/or cardiac MRI within the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre (ACIC) at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney (SVHS) under the direction of the Chief Cardiac Radiographer. Manage and participate in the delivery of clinical care to patients attending the ACIC across both MRI and CT modalities.
Manage the performance of the ACIC to ensure business and clinical KPIs are met.
Establish, implement and monitor quality and safety systems within the ACIC.
Coordinate the research agenda of the ACIC in partnership with the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, Cardiology Department, NSW Ministry of Health and St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney Executive.
Management of non-medical staff working in the ACIC.
Develop and implement policies, procedures and educational materials to establish and govern the ACIC.
Work with key internal and external stakeholders to establish and commission the ACIC.
Work with external organisations to maintain the asset held by the ACIC.
Manage the ACIC costs code and associated expenses including the staff establishment.
Work with the St Vincent’s Hospital Radiology Department to establish and maintain shared arrangements.

POSITION DUTIES
• Leading the operations of the cardiac MRI Suite and/or the Cardiac CT Suite independently within the ACIC, under the Chief Cardiac Radiographer. This includes; associated administrative duties, leadership/supervision of staff, safety, patient throughput, patient care, patient scheduling, immediate staffing, education and training, equipment maintenance scheduling, quality assurance activities and maintenance of standards.
• Allocation and supervision of staff to ensure staff and resources are used with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Assisting the Chief Cardiac Radiographer in the provision of safety and training within the section and the development and implementation of safety protocols around MRI and CT to ensure the ACIC operates in safe and patient-centred way.
• Commit to all on-site and off-site training deemed necessary by the Chief Cardiac Radiographer to the attainment of proficiency in the operation of the ACIC cardiac CT scanner and cardiac MRI scanner, sufficient to operate the ACIC cardiac CT scanner and cardiac MRI scanner independently and to a high standard.
• Work within the multi-disciplinary team in ACIC and the Heart Lung Stream more broadly to ensure ACIC complements and enables a strong cardiovascular service at SVHS.
• Maintain strong clinical and corporate records relating to the activities of the ACIC. • Contribute to the triaging and safety-checking of patients referred through to ACIC to
ensure patients who do not meet inclusion criteria are appropriately managed and patients who do meet criteria access the service in an appropriate timeframe.
