Macbeth: Tragedy Or Nah By Miqueias Mota
What is a Tragedy
Tragedy:a dramatic composition,
often in verse, dealing with a serious or somber theme, typically involving a great person destined to experience downfall or utter destruction, as through a character flaw or conflict with some overpowering force, as fate or an unyielding society.
Macbeth Summary Macbeth is a war hero in the
beginning of the book but after a prophesy given by 3 witches becomes power hungry resulting in him killing the King
He later kills soldiers who he accused of murdering King
He slaughtered Macduff’s family because of suspicions about him
He killed his best friend, Banquo, trying to stop Banquo’s son from being King later on in the future.
Tragedy or Nah? If the character of
Macbeth in the beginning was killed at the end of the play then Yes, Tragedy
He killed the King, two soldiers, Macduff’s whole familly(wife, kids, and others), and Banquo
This makes him a villain not a hero that the audience sympathizes with when dead
