Bulgaria is located in Southeast Europe, in the northeast part of the Balkan Peninsula.The official time in Bulgaria is Eastern European Time, which is two hours ahead of Greenwich Time.A series of major European transport corridors pass through Bulgaria.Bulgaria borders to the north with Romania, to the east with the Black Sea, to the south with Turkey and Greece, and to the west with Macedonia and Serbia.With a territory of 110,994 square kilometres (42,855 sq mi), Bulgaria is Europe's 14th-largest country.

Bulgarian folklore

Valya Mladenova Balkanskais a Bulgarian folk music singer from the Rhodope Mountains known locally for her wide repertoire of Balkan folksong, but in the West mainly for singing the song "Izlel e Delyu Haydutin ", part of the Voyager Golden Record selection of music included in the two Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. It is expected that her voice will be played in space for at least 60,000 years more.
